Privacy Policy

Love For Learning · Effective Oct 24, 2026 · Version 2026-10

1. Who we are

Love For Learning ("we", "us") provides private tutoring in math and English for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. This policy explains what information our website collects, why, and the choices families have.

Questions or requests about privacy: email tyreljonesmay@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

  • Students: first name or nickname, grade, subjects, tutoring schedule and attendance, the missions they are given, their answers and notes, scores, tutor feedback, skill progress, XP, badges and avatar choice.
  • Student logins use a username and password chosen by the academy. We do not collect a student's email address, phone number, photo, address or date of birth.
  • Parents and guardians: name, email address (for signing in), relationship to the student, consent records, invoices and payments.
  • Tutors and staff: name, email address and the records they create (schedules, notes, reviews).

3. What we don't do

  • No advertising, no selling or renting personal information, and no tracking for marketing.
  • No public leaderboards, public profiles or chat between students.
  • No analytics or advertising cookies. The site only uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

4. How we use information

  • To plan and deliver tutoring, assign practice and give feedback.
  • To track progress and show it to the student, their tutors and their linked parents or guardians.
  • To schedule sessions, record attendance and prepare invoices.
  • To keep accounts secure and to fix problems with the website.

5. Children's privacy and consent

Students cannot create their own accounts. A student login is only created after a parent or guardian gives consent, either online in Parent Connect or on our paper consent form.

A parent or guardian can withdraw consent at any time. When consent for the student login is withdrawn, the login is paused.

6. Who can see information

  • Each student sees only their own work. Parents and guardians see only children linked to their account.
  • Tutors see only the students assigned to them. The academy owner and administrators can see all records to run the academy.
  • Service providers that run the website for us: our database and sign-in provider (Supabase) and our web server host. They store data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. Data is stored in Canada and the United States.
  • IXL: some missions link to practice on IXL. When a student opens an IXL link they leave our website, and IXL's own privacy policy applies. We do not send student information to IXL.
  • We may disclose information if the law requires it.

7. How we protect information

  • All traffic to the website is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as secure hashes, never in plain text.
  • Access is checked by the database itself for every request, so people can only see what their role allows.
  • Important actions (for example approvals, billing changes and data deletion) are recorded in an audit log.

8. How long we keep information

We keep learning records while a student is enrolled. When a student leaves, we archive their record. A parent or guardian can ask us to permanently delete their child's learning records; we will do so within 30 days.

Invoices and payment records are kept for at least six years because tax law requires it, even if other records are deleted.

9. Your choices and rights

  • See the information we hold about your child, or get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
  • Withdraw consent (online in Parent Connect, or by contacting us).
  • Ask us to delete your child's learning records (billing records excepted, as above).
  • To make a request, email tyreljonesmay@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use your child's information, we will tell parents and ask for consent again where needed.
